As discussed in the lecture, a medium is an extension of ourselves. Whether you are reading this on your bed on a phone, the medium is the same, but is interacted in many different forms and ways. To put it in advanced words, this is called convergence.
Ideation is important. This is crucial to any form of media that is being created.
This meme that I created explains this perfectly.
Without ideation, the medium isn’t even created. In order for the medium to be seen by people, ideas need to be created, which then make for the production and distribution of the set media work.
Ideation can also bring in #fefo (fail early, fail often). The more times you tackle this concept of ideation the less times you can fail. There is legit no scale as to how much you can create and produce.
This idea of ideation also brings in the non-industrial paradigm. Ideation is all experimentation, leading to many unique and different ways of creating media. There isn’t a set way of making the content, it is purely based on that person’s imagination.
Ideation allows you to go nuts with what it is that you want to create.
