What Works and What Doesn’t?

Since the start of this project many of the content which has been seen has failed and some have been successful. Constant ideating, reiterating and remodelling has led to the constant thinking of what is next for the project?

Mavro Productions

After the break of football vlogs, the idea to bring them back, has led to the #bebo instrument being used. The building of the football vlogs early has led to this type of content being established, and does extremely well in comparison to other videos.

My most recent video, accumulating 36 views in around 16 hours.
Most recent football blog accumulated 85 views in 24 hours.

Overall, the football vlog videos continue to be a building block for the YouTube channel, and the video which was produced made the learning process a lot simpler. What was learnt is that people want to see a continuation of the same content. The football vlogs continue to do well and grow in popularity, meaning that this type of content should be maintained in order to attract new audiences and bring in old ones.

The most popular video on the channel was a vlog, with almost 900 views.

The newest video was 40 minutes long. Audience feedback was that many of them would not want to sit down and watch the video for that long, meaning short and concise videos will attract more views.

The audience average view time was less than half the actual video length.

Cypriot First League English

Again, a continuation of popular content has brought in more viewers and more engagement with the page.

The Goals of the Week continue to be a great interest point for viewers, this has a continued focus on remaking, with creative synthesis. This synthesis involves music and clever captions. This was part of the test early test often schedule. Being able to test this and its early success, has allowed for this type of content to always be tested, and continues to do well.

The Goal of the Week hitting 400 views and 46 likes, one of the most engaging posts.

This type of post can be compared to a standard post of the scores, which does not attract nearly as much traction nor attention.

This post only got 10 likes, which is the average for all the score posts.

Although it does not gain as much traction, the continuation remains there, as audiences know the scores of each game every week. What should be done next is the continuation of the goals of the week and the scores.

The Football Edge Pod

Audience engagement was not as high until feedback was received by an audience member on an early podcast from late last year. Although this is not during the DA period, it is another part of the #teto schedule. This podcast episode received 48 listens on Soundcloud, and along with the feedback received has been the most engaging podcast thus far.

This feedback will allow me to do even more interviews and content relating to football and comedy, as part of the question as to what is next?

What has been evaluated that the audience engage more with audio on a podcast then a video, in terms of length, as podcasts are known for length rather then videos on YouTube.

Talking Sports

Upon sharing this post:

Audience engagement was high on this day, at 16, as people from #bcm114 and the personal social media continued to read and share it.

When a post is being shared, the traction is there.

Building early on the sports magazine has established a key reading base, and people interact with the page as they continuously see posts from it.

Whenever there is a post there is a view, the prototyping of different types of reviews led to more traction. Longer and more in-depth analysis of the games that happened allows readers to gain better knowledge from what was known before reading the article.

This weeks traction.

What will be done next is to continue this overall cycle of posting, and maintain the postage of reviews and short articles, as they gain traction and views.

In terms of monetisation and making profit out of this, the sole purpose of these channels and media outlets is to build the online portfolio within these pages. Merchandise and a patreon have been set up, however, further growing the pages is the main objective at the moment.

  1. Hey Chrisos!
After going through all your content I’m extremely impressed! There is a large range of content on all different platforms. The interview with Jason Puncheon is an incredible achievement also! All your platforms have come a long way since the beginning and the audience feedback you receive is amazing. With your social media platforms, it is important to constantly link them all together and remind your audience about all your platforms. This may be putting them all in the description or saying it in your youtube videos. This is crucial in allowing your audience to expand overall platforms increasing your overall following. This is something I try my best to do over TikTok and Instagram. Constant reminders and links in the description. Although I see little help from it, there is supporting evidence on the internet suggesting the benefits from it.
Also uploading at regular times of the day is important too. This is something I am about to implement in my project as it enforces consistency and allows the audience an idea to know when you will be uploading.
I also think analysing the English Premier League might be a good idea as it has a major following and this may allow more people to find your page and social media. Doing this is will expand viewership on your more niche work such as the analysis of the Cyprian League.
Other then that great stuff re.

  2. Wow, your DA is so cool! soccer is something I personally don’t interact with but with your passion and knowledge towards the topic is very engaging! It’s awesome that you have an active and participating audience who listen and engage with your content. It’s really interesting and their feedback and their thoughts and opinions in regards to your media. In your podcast, you speak with such confidence and passion it really draws me in towards what you’re talking about. As I don’t want to recommend any changes to your topics as don’t know enough. Nevertheless, I would recommend uploading your media at a fixed time of the day and advertise/promote them on your social media. I believe that through implementing this in your project it will enforce consistency and allow your audience to continuously engage with your content. Overall I would like to congratulate you chrisos! you can tell you are very passionate and enjoy your DA very much, which makes it very easy and enjoyable too read good job !

  3. Hey! Super impressed by your work. Seems like you’ve put heart and thought into the project so far, probably because it’s something you’re passionate about! The stats throughout are really helpful, and give an accurate idea of the growth of your project. It also seems like your prototyping is regular and effective. Nice work.

I’m also working with video for parts of mine and found that more people are likely to watch when its just a ten second highlight reel! An idea could be to make a highlight reel of one of your games which you could use both on Youtube or Instagram. Science wise, a persons attention span on Insta is on average 8secs long (https://www.wibbitz.com/blog/best-instagram-video-length/#:~:text=Instagram%20Feed&text=That%20said%2C%20the%20average%20person,all%20while%20attracting%20broader%20audiences.). But Youtube might be different, I found out theres aparently a 50% view time expectancy for each vid, so youre probably right in thinking your 40min vid is a bit too long – https://uhurunetwork.com/the-50-rule-for-youtube/#:~:text=The%20channels%20vary%20in%20content,of%20the%20total%20video%20length.

Last up, I watched through this video when I was considering making my DA youtube based and found it helpful, it focus’ on keeping user attention via different editing and publishing decisions – https://uhurunetwork.com/the-50-rule-for-youtube/#:~:text=The%20channels%20vary%20in%20content,of%20the%20total%20video%20length.

Goodluck with the rest of your project! I’m not exactly what you’d call a football fan…but I found this pretty interesting to read, so you’re doing something right 😉

    Cheers!

  5. Very unique DA idea! The information you provided was easily found due to your well thought out and aesthetically pleasing design and layout! Your idea has major potential which is evident in the engagement evidence you’ve provided. You’re doing extremely well! The only feedback I can think to provide is setting a time and day each week in which you upload your YouTube vlogs, and sharing such date to all your media platforms (including YouTube) so you can attain maximum audience engagement!

  6. Hey, this idea is so different and it is great that you are incorporating something you love into your project. It’s great that you are responding to user feedback. Adapting towards your users is a must if you want to grow and improve your engagement on your channel. Don’t be afraid to reach out for more user feedback. From what is seen above you are basing feedback solely on analytics. Engage your users in the videos ask them questions about what their wants and needs are. Another way to get engagement levels up is to set prizes or chats with users. Give people incentives to be invested. Reach out to your users rather than them reaching out to you.
The channel is looking great though, keep up the good work!

  7. Hi, great work! I am a football fanatic and player myself and I am honestly extremely impressed to see so much work and passion put into something that I love too. In particular, your regular and detailed documentation was the key to your success and growth of your DA, as it allows you to keep track of your progress, in turn allowing you to make necessary analysis. This is definitely something that I haven’t done so well and thanks for setting up a brilliant example. On the other hand, I like your logo and layout too – clean, symbolising and easily recognisable, which is another factor that leads to success. Also, I see that you have incorporated a large variety of platforms into your DA, enabling you to reach out to more audience and establish a concrete and widespread online persona. I wish you all the best and look forward to more amazing content!
